Implementation of an Employer-paid life insurance scheme for Sri Lankan Migrant Workers employed in the Middle Eastern region |

This
insurance scheme has been implemented by the Sri Lanka Bureau of
Foreign Employment(SLBFE) in terms of the policy of the Government
of Sri Lanka to ensure welfare and protection of Sri Lankan females
employed in the domestic sector in the Middle Eastern Region. The
insurance scheme aims to provide comprehensive insurance coverage
for female employees in the domestic sector who leave for employment
in the Middle Eastern Region annually with the registration of SLBFE.
Female domestic workers who are working in U.A.E., Qatar, Oman,
Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain are covered under this
mandatory insurance scheme.
